School Fete

I had my longest gig at a school fete on 25 May. It was my daughter's school, so we were there from 8:30am to set up and didn't leave till 5:00pm after packing up.

Did quite a lot of preparations before the fete itself, making sure I had all the balloons I needed and menus for all pricing.

Balloon Bag! Over 1600 balloons! :)

Balloon games for the day : Flying Mouse and Archery

Some balloons listed on my menus :

Basic Bumblebee

Dinosaur. I saw this at a fair by another twister. Children were walking around with it and I got to see quite a few angles of it!

Frog from Jonathan Fudge on youtube

A Warren Ann aeroplane on youtube

It was wonderful to have some of you pop by to say hi on that day!

Still twisting.. :)

Whoa, it's been more than a month since I last entered an entry! I'm still here, still twisting, just haven't had time to blog.

Will update a few photos over the next few days.

January has been a really busy month. There was a the new school year to get ready for, and a friend's husband's birthday gift! I love that balloon I made! A race car! You'll have to keep an eye out for my update on that!

Anyway, it's been quite a learning curve from a single balloon creation to multiple balloons creation.

I'm loving it and I hope you are too.

Balloon twisting with children

Did my first balloon twisting assignment at a local playgroup today and I was overwhelmed by the positive remarks from parents and children. I was really nervous as this is my first line twisting. There were other entertainers at the playgroup for their Christmas party and that was very very helpful for me as a first timer.

I totally enjoyed the time twisting for the children. They really have A LOT of patience! They'd sit and watch and wait for their turn. Had some balloons pre-made and that helped a lot for those who were not sure what they wanted.

But my fingers are sore now!

Look forward to the next twisting opportunity!

Start of Balloonaholic!

This blog started because I needed somewhere to keep my balloon photos and do a little writeup about them. I started balloon twisting as a hobby in November 2011 and am now hopelessly addicted to them. A friend gave me the term 'Balloonaholic' and I liked it so much, I'm starting a blog with this title!

I'm still at the stage of learning from online videos and forums and am truly grateful to the balloon community around the world for being so generous in sharing their expertise and skills. I will be posting the links of where the tutorials came from. If you are into balloon twisting, I hope you'll find the links helpful!

Thought I'll also post up some pictures of balloons that I had learnt this year.. It's been quite a journey and I have learnt a lot through the videos and forums.

Happy twisting!
